Law Answered’s Sponsorship scheme is now open!

We are now offering to sponsor up to three students who will be studying the GDL or PGDL law conversion courses in 2020-21 .

We'll support you by offering you free learning materials, £500 towards your studies and free career coaching support from our qualified team.

WHO CAN APPLY?

You’re eligible to apply  if you’re going to study the GDL or PGDL this academic year, and your law school fees are not being met by a law firm. We are expecting lots of applications and while we will look at every one in detail we are keen, if possible, to support someone from an under-represented background. This might apply to you if you:

  • consider yourself to be from an ethnic group or background which is under-represented in the legal profession;

  • consider yourself to be disabled or have long-term health conditions; or

  • have experienced socio-economic disadvantage (for example: you are in receipt of means-tested grants/bursaries; are the first generation in your family to attend university; are or have been a refugee; were eligible for free school meals (from a state school non-selective comprehensive); or you have been in local authority care).

HOW WE WILL SUPPORT YOU

We will support you during your law conversion studies with £500 in cash, a free GDL Answered Core Guide and Case Books (and digital access through our platform), and careers coaching support too. Our team includes a highly qualified university skills and careers advisor, who will offer you support through a coaching call, reviewing your CV and offering advice based on your specific career goals. We want to support you as well as work with you throughout your conversion course, and this would include giving us your specific comments and feedback on our guides so that we can improve them for next year's students and tailor them to your course.

Competition for training contracts is intense, and particularly so this year. If you haven’t got a training contract already lined up, you’re likely to be self-funding through your professional qualifications. If you’re not fixed up we want to be helping you with every step of your journey - which is why we’ve put this holistic package together.

ELIGIBILITY

Students applying to our sponsorship scheme need:

  • to be studying the GDL or PGDL between Autumn 2020 and Summer 2021; and

  • not to be already sponsored through law school by a law firm.

DEADLINE

Applications close on 17 July 2020.
